Frequently Asked Questions
Are the wedding cars all chauffeur-driven?
Yes, all the wedding cars come with friendly, professional uniformed chauffeurs.
Who normally goes in which wedding car at what time?
This is a matter of choice as it depends on who is attending and whom you would
like to be transported. The Bride and the person giving the Bride away normally
travel together in one wedding car. The second wedding car normally transports the
Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride with the third wedding car transporting the
Grooms parents. After the ceremony, the Bride and Groom travel in the Bridal car;
both sets of parents travel in the second wedding car, with the best man, bridesmaids,
flower girls, pageboys etc in the third wedding car.
Can young children travel in the vehicles?
Children over the age of 3 can travel in the rear of any of our cars but it is important
to note that these are classic cars and as such some of our cars do not have seat
belts fitted. Unfortunately, as stipulated by the Law, we are not able to carry
children under the age of 3 at any time.
Can we view the wedding cars before we book?
Yes, you are welcome to view the wedding cars. Please phone to arrange a mutually
convenient time, and this will enable us to ensure that the cars you wish to see
are available at that time.
Do you use a car for more than 1 wedding a day?
No, our cars are only booked for one wedding per day.
I only need a wedding car for an hour, can I get a discount?
Unfortunately, with the preparation that we have to put into the planning of the
transport, cleaning of the vehicle in preparation for your wedding, travelling time
to the pickup address, travelling time after dropping off, and then cleaning after
the wedding, plus the day is then lost to any other booking, we do not normally
discount the price as this could have already involved 3-4 hours work! Our prices
are also very competitive with other companies which reduces any margin for discounting.
Are your cars available to hire for civil partnerships?
Yes. Avon Classic Wedding Cars are happy to cater for all Gay and Lesbian Weddings and
Civil partnerships. The only thing that matters at Avon Classic Wedding Cars is that the
happy couple have a fantastic day and enjoy being transported in style & elegance!
How do I go about booking my wedding cars?
A deposit of £50 is payable per wedding car, with the balance due to be paid 6 weeks
before the date of the wedding. Payment can be made in person, by post or over the
phone by debit or credit card.
What happens if a wedding is subsequently cancelled or postponed?
The deposit represents a commitment by you to take the wedding cars on the day stated,
and a commitment by us to make them available. If a wedding is subsequently cancelled,
no further sum will become due, but the deposit is non-refundable, since any other
enquiries for the wedding cars on that date will have been refused. If a wedding
is subsequently postponed, then provided you have given us at least 3 months notice,
the full deposit will be held against the cars for the new wedding date – however,
the price originally quoted for the cars will be subject to any price increases
applied during the period from the original wedding date to the revised date.
Can we smoke in the cars?
All our cars are strictly non-smoking.
What happens if the car(s) booked for my wedding day are not available?
It is our policy to maintain our cars to a very high standard. We regularly carry
out work on our cars to stop this happening. However, on the rare occasion that
it does we would contact you immediately and offer you an alternative car(s). if
you are not happy with the cars offered and wish to book a car(s) with somebody
else we could give you a full refund of your booking fee.
Are your vehicles suitably insured for wedding work?
Yes, all of our vehicles are insured on a full comprehensive cover for social domestic
and pleasure and private hire (weddings). We also have full breakdown and accident
emergency cover on all vehicles.
